Death of Thomas E. Jones

Thomas. E. Jones, of McCulloch, died Thursday night, July 31st, of flux. He was about seventy years of age, born in South Wales in 1820, and was a member of the M. E. Church for forty years. In early days Mr. Jones was a puddler in the rolling mill and worked for years in Pittsburg, Ironton and the old Gaylord mill in this city. He was saving and accumulated enough to purchase an excellent farm on McCulloch, where he has spent the last twenty years of his life. Mr. Jones was honest and industrious, and was a valuable citizen. He leaves a wife and six children. They were all present at the funeral but John, who lives in Nebraska, and Edward, who lives in Kansas. His remains were laid to rest in the Cooper Cemetery on Duck Run pike. Rev. Rodgers, of Carey’s Run, preached the funeral at the cemetery.”1
