At the February meeting of the Scioto County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society, we had the opportunity to speak with life-member Marty Scott. She shared with us her story and how it connects to the Streich family of Portsmouth, Ohio, offering valuable insights into the area’s history and her personal genealogical journey.

Through years of digitizing records and preserving photographs from Portsmouth and the surrounding region, we’ve built an extensive catalog of local images. This ever-growing collection not only serves as a historical archive but also presents an ongoing challenge—identifying locations, structures, and people that time has nearly forgotten. Every image holds a piece of the past, and with community input and continued research, we strive to piece together the visual history of Scioto County and beyond.
