“John Laubley, whose very feeble condition we mentioned a week or so ago died at his residence on East Eleventh street Wednesday evening, from pulmonary disease.”
“Mr. Laubley was seventy-eight years of age the 6th of last April. He was born in Baden, Germany, and came to this country in 1855, in which year he came to Portsmouth. He was married twice, the first time in the old country in 1836, and the second time in this city in 1856. No children were born of the second union, and of the eight that followed the first, five survive; Christ, Charles, Jacob, Louise and August, who lives in Carlisle, Kentucky, and who is now in the city, called here by his father’s death.”
“The funeral took place yesterday at 2 o’clock from the German Presbyterian Church, the Reverend Mr. Brandan officiating.”1
