Hi there—we are Wandering Appalachia.
Follow us as we wander
We’re Eli and Amanda, the husband and wife team behind Wandering Appalachia. Our adventures take us from forgotten cemeteries to archives and attics, where we gather and preserve the fragments of history that time leaves behind.
We digitize records and photographs, document sites with cameras and drones, and contribute what we find to larger genealogical communities. Each name, clipping, and stone is a piece of a story, and we work to piece them back together so they’re not lost to silence.
Wandering Appalachia is simply our way of sharing those journeys—moments of history uncovered, lives remembered, and connections restored.

I want to hear your story!
Much of our work originates from talking to folks such as yourself. We’d love to hear from you and hear your story.
