Cemetery Notes:

DAY CEMETERY is inaccessibly located on a backwash of the Ohio River in swampy, wooded ground north of Highland Park, Green Township. The cemetery is about 1/4 mile west of U.S.Rt 52. These inscriptions were copied May 7, 1978 by Esther Lang, Caryn R. Shoemaker, and Elizabeth Bandy. Mr. Elliott Stapleton of Sciotoville said there were 90 or more graves there before the 1937 flood. He called it Civil Cemetery because there were many Civil War veterans buried there.
