A Runaway Wedding

John Oliver and Ida Miller, a runaway couple from Ross County, appeared before Squire Ashton, Thursday, and producing the required credentials, asked to be made one flesh. Squire Ashton asked them why they came so far away from home to launch on the turbulent sea, and they replied that the parents on both sides objected to the match, and they were not going to let an affair of the heart be interfered with by stern parents. The determined couple were united in marriage, and departed for home to surprise the old folks.”1
