“An old grudge culminated in a fist fight between John Bodmer and Ernest Pick on the West Side, Thursday morning. The two men who have been enemies for years, met in the road and words soon led to blows. Pick was badly worsted, and when he found that he was getting a licking, he started to run, dashing through a nearby corn field. Bodmer, who is not so fleet of foot as his adversary, gave chase, but was soon outdistanced. The last seen of Pick he was still on the move.”1
