“Charles E. Winters, a clothing cutter and designer, who came here from New York February 1st, to take charge of the Schwartz Clothing company’s shop, will give up this position Wednesday evening to go to Easton, Pennsylvania, where a flattering opportunity has offered him to go into business with his brother JR Winters who was formerly employed at the Eisman shop in this city. They will begin business at once under the firm name of Winters Brothers.”
“Two years ago, when JR Winters1 went to Easton to take a new position with a leading tailor there he was promised an interest in the business or an opportunity to buy if the owner decided to sell. The proprietor was in poor health and before his death which occurred last Friday, he expressed the wise that Mr. Winters succeed him in the business. The chance is one of a lifetime, as this is the leading tailoring store of that city.”
“Charles E. Winters is leaving Portsmouth with regret as he has made a number of friends here and was well pleased with his new surroundings. However, this change was one which he did not think, in justice to himself he could afford to pass up.”
“The Schwartz Company already has a new man to take Mr. Winter’s place in the person of Charles Familia, who arrived from Pittsburg Wednesday and will take charge at once.”2
