Mrs. Ivy Viola Lute

“Mrs. Ivy Viola Lute, 77, of Tatman Road, McDermott, died at 4 a.m. Sunday in Portsmouth General Hospital following a stroke which she suffered Thursday at her home.

Born April 8, 1876, in Scioto County, she was a daughter of George and Drucilla Crabtree Lute. She was married to Daniel F. Lute who preceded her in death 15 years ago.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Sylvia Williams and Mrs. Harry Miller of McDermott, Mrs. Merle Toller of Portsmouth, and Mrs. Olive Hardin of Walsh, Ky. a son, Floyd Lute of Lucasville Rt. 1, 23 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.

She was a member of the Baptist faith.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at McDermott Free Will Baptist Church and burial will be in Garvin Cemetery under the direction of Freeman Funeral Home.

The body may be viewed at the home of a granddaughter whom she reared, Mrs. Jack Stephens of McDermott, Monday night.”1.
