Ten Bodies Exhumed, Taken to Greenlawn

“The remains of the parents of James M. Williams and of eight other departed relatives were successfully removed from below Pond Run to Greenlawn cemetery Wednesday evening. Nothing was found left of three other bodies known to have been buried in the family graveyard. Mr. Williams’ father was married four times and the remains of each of his wives were transferred to the new family lot in Greenlawn. The old family burying ground was located on the edge of a knob and the fear that it might be washed out some day prompted Mr. Williams to exhume the bodies and remove them to the cemetery here.”1
