
“The following relative to the death of Uri Tracy is from the Herald Courier of Bristol, Tennessee:”
“Uri Tracy, aged 53 years, died Wednesday night at the Appalachian Hospital, at Johnson City, following a stroke of paralysis, which he received in Johnson City Saturday morning.”
“The funeral services were conducted at 10 o’clock this morning from the residence, 716 Maryland Avenue by Dr. JL Rosser1, of the First Baptist church. The funeral carriage will leave on train No. 12 for Portsmouth, Ohio, and burial will be there. Those selected for pall-bearers were WF Jones, Nat Taylor, Governor Alf Taylor, Dave Taylor, Blaine Taylor and Ross Smalling. The honorary pallbearers will be SN Christian, NP Lawrence, Alton Swadley, JL Wood, Joe Taylor, Ben Gore, Green Royster, Robert Mottern, BH Cloyd, NH Stinette and SE Bonsack.”
” Mr. Tracy, who was a member of Governor Alf Taylor‘s staff, was born in Portsmouth, Ohio. He had been a salesman and heavy stockholder in the Frick Company of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, for many years.”
“For nearly three years, Mr. Tracy had been a resident of Bristol. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of this city and of all the Masonic bodies and the UCT2. “He’s survived besides his wife3, his mother, Mrs. John B. Tracy4, of Bristol, two brothers, CP Tracy5 and Albert Tracy of Portsmouth, and two sisters, Mrs. BF Holmes6, of Portsmouth, and a twin sister, Mrs. Frank Myers7, of Alexandria, Louisiana. One brother, the youngest of the family, died two years ago.”

“Mr. Tracy was well-known here and in the short time that he lived here made a wide circle of friends. News of his death was a profound shock to his friends with whom he mingled a great deal while in the city.”
“Members of the local Council UCT are requested by their officers to bring their cars to the funeral of Mr. Tracy.”
“The body of Mr. Tracy arrived here on N&W train No. 3 this morning and was taken to Hales Creek, on the B&O train this morning, the remains being taken to the home of his sister, Mrs. BF Holmes.”
“The funeral services will be held at the Roscoe Baptist church at Hales Creek Sunday at two o’clock, with Reverend AK Murphy of Rushown in charge.”8
