“We learn from a gentleman from Pike county of a fatal accident that occured in Newton township, that county, last Saturday. Samuel Dinsmore1, while driving to church in an express with his wife and children, the animals became frightened, dashing off at a frightful speed, throwing out the lady and her children as the team sped down the hill. At the foot of the hill Mr. Dinsmore was also thrown violently to the ground, crushing his head and killing him instantly. The deceased was a respectable farmer, and in his sixty-fifth year.”2
