“Willie, a nine-year-old son of George Blair, a laborer, living in an alley house near Front and Gay streets, died early Sunday morning of pneumonia following measles. The family is very poor and the authorities were called upon to defray the expenses of the funeral and burial which took place Monday morning.”¹
