Joseph Watson Obituary

Mr. Joseph Watson, a venerable Englishman, who for the past two years has been boarding with Mr. Holland at 76 West Sixth street, died Sunday morning after a protracted illness. The deceased was born in Leeds, England, December 24th, 1825, and only been in this country a little over two years. He was a courteous and pleasant old gentleman and won many friends. His sons, Charles and William, of Minnesota were with their father during his last days; besides these Mr. Watson leaves two daughters in England. The deceased was a member of the Church of England, and his funeral sermon was preached at his late residence Tuesday afternoon, the Reverend WW Mix, of Christ church officiating.”1
