“The undersigned would inform the citizens of Staunton and adjoining country, that he has opened a branch of his Winchester Valley Marble Works in the above town and nearly opposite the Post Office, on Main Street, where he has and intends to keep constantly on hand a full supply of gravestone, of the finest Eastern Marble, – also Tomb Tops, both plain and molded. Monuments, box and panel tombs made to order.”
“He is manufacturing Egyptian, Italian, and American marble mantles of the latest style and finish at his works in Winchester. Gentlemen wishing to purchase will please to call on James C Marquis, who has charge of the works, and who will deliver and set-up without the purchaser running any risks as to breakage.” Designs of mantles can be seen by calling on the latter.”
