Sad Death of Miss Delila Rhodes

“Death has visited the household of Mrs. Mariah Rhodes, and removed one of her children from this world to another. The deceased, Miss Delila Rhodes, made her home with her mother, three miles east on the Gallipolis pike. Ten days prior to her death, the pangs of muscular rheumatism entered her system. Its spread was of short duration. The strong constitution yielded to it and last Sunday afternoon at 2 1/2 o’clock 1 she passed away. Her brothers and sisters were around the bedside at the last moment.”

“Miss Rhodes was a lady of accomplished manners, had an amiable disposition and was highly respected in this community, and was the sister of Mrs. Pat Kenrick.”[/efn_note]Sarah Jane “Sallie” Kenrick (nee Rhodes)[/efn_note]

“She was born in this city December 5th, 1854. The funeral services were conducted by Reverend Work at 2 o’clock on Monday afternoon.”2
