The death certificate1 issued for stillborn child of William Gamble lists that William Gamble and Carrie Blevins as the parents of the stillborn female child. The address listed for the parents is provided as 1228 15th Street. The death certificate being the primary source, it is supposed that the Portsmouth Daily Times article misspelled the family’s surname. This theory is further proven by researching Greenlawn Cemetery’s online burial records. Their record reflecting the Gamble surname can be found here.
