“Mr R Miller, one of the old pioneers of Scioto county, died last week, at his old homestead on Carey’s Run, after an illness of several weeks.”
“Mr. Miller was born February 13th, 1809, in York, Pennsylvania, near Lancaster, of the same State. He was married March 17th, 1824, at Chillicothe, Ohio, and settled in Scioto county, Ohio, in 1833. To the union were born fourteen children, four of whom are living and were in attendance at the funeral. The funeral services were conducted on Friday afternoon, and the remains were deposited in the graveyard on the hillside.“1
