Maysville – (Special) – Services for Josephus (Jack) Brandon, 30, Charters, Lewis county, a foreman with the Mighty Hoosier State Shows Carnival, who was killed at Connersville, Ind., by a policeman’s bullet, were held today at Cedar Grove Holiness Church, Lewis County. Burial was in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Brandon had worked with the carnival for 10 years, coming home in the winter to be with his wife, Mrs. Marie Edington Brandon, and their two year old son, Larry Joe. They are his only survivors.

Walter LaHayne, Connersville Police Chief, said Mr. Brandon was killed by a shot fired by Patrolman Robert Richardson.

Coroner Joseph A. Pyfrin was told that as the police were questioning Brandon and a taxicab driver, who were engaged in an argument, the victim broke away and started to run between two tents and Richardson fired.
