Home of Enos Moore. Captain of the steamboat Bonanza.

Built about 1850 the Federal-Greek Revival home of Captain Enos Moore stands at 548 Sixth Street in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Captain Enos Moore was master o the steamboat, “Bonanza” for many years on the Ohio River traveling from Pittsburgh to New Orleans. Captain J.W. Rieker, master of Captain Moore’s sister-ship, “Bostonian,” retired with Captain Moore in Portsmouth. Captain Moore also served on no less than forty other steamboats during his lifetime on the river. (1)
