Several years ago I began collecting old local portraits that were being sold by a local antique store, Ghost in the Attic. Often there would be collections that had been separated from old scrapbook; some photos with names and some without. Fortunately, the above photo of an eight month old Howard Wilson Conley had been inscribed in pencil over a century ago.
FamilySearch.org shows that Howard was born April 7, 1917, in Porter Township, Scioto County, Ohio. His parents were Curtis Conley, an engineer, and Margaret “Maggie” Strickland.
His last place of residence was Fremont, Alameda County, California, and he died January 25, 1995 in San Joaquin County, California.
