“Jasper Shephard, aged 57 years, died at the county infirmary Saturday at midnight after a several weeks’ illness with kidney trouble. He was a resident of Ohio Furnace and is survived by a wife, who is also an inmate of the institution. Burial took place in the county cemetery Monday.” 1
