Rawlins was admitted to the institution three months ago and but little is known of home. He has one son living at New Boston who was notified last Sunday of his father’s condition, but failed to come to see him.”

“Burial will take place Friday morning at 10 o’clock.”1

“The remains of John Rawlins, eldest inmate of the infirmary, were buried in the county cemetery Friday. Reverend Mr. Bright conducted the services. Rawlins only son failed to attend though word was sent to him at his home in New Boston.” 2
