John J. McFarlin is constructing iron rooms, for the county Infirmary, to hold the unruly insane. He will soon leave the city, as he has traded for country property. Mt. McFarlin is a good smith, has been an exemplary citizen, a member of the Board of Education, and was recently elected Trustee of the Water Works. The city can illy afford to lose such men.” 1
